Staples ~ What Every Kitchen Should Have on Hand

A Well Kept Pantry has its Staples

A staple is a principle material; in this case, I am talking about those things (principle food items) which are a must in a good cooks pantry. Do you have to be an educated chef to know this? No, not at all. You just have to be brainy. Years ago, when they still taught home economics classes in high school, you could learn about staples. If your homemaker mom or grandmother had that information, they would and did pass it on. I could also say that for anyone who loves to eat and cook, knowing what to keep in the pantry comes seemingly automatic. For a good cook, it's the same as knowing your way around a kitchen, any kitchen.... it just comes as second nature.  So what is a must in the Brainy Gourmet's Pantry?

Brainy Gourmet's 10 Best Staples:

1- Butter
2- Heavy Cream
3- Onion and Garlic
4- Pasta and Rice
5- Eggs and Cheeses
6- Fresh Herbs (dried too)
7- Potatoes and Tomatoes
8-Wine both Red and White
9-Olive Oil and Coconut Oil
10-Vinegar, Sea Salt and Black Pepper

*chicken & beef stock ;-)
