Pizza is Italian in origin but it is loved worldwide...
Did/do you know that the precursor of pizza was probably the focaccia, a flat bread known to the Romans as panis focacius, to which toppings were then added. Modern pizza or what we would call modern was developed in Naples, when tomato was added to the focaccia in the late 18th century.
Pizza as a kind of meal was and could be eaten anytime of the day, even for breakfast; and, well some still do. Personally, I have had last night's pizza cooked in the morning like French toast, dipped in egg and then skillet fried. And, its really good that way!
I have eaten pizza in Italy, Rome, Florence, London, Warsaw, and Chicago. But, homemade is still the best. Here are a few samples of the best of the best... I even recommend buying flatbread and dressing it up as you like. Its almost better than making your own pizza dough.
